Hey!

I'm Josh.

I make awesome sites for awesome people.

About Me

Hey there! My name is Josh. I’m a full time web developer outside of Knoxville, TN. I work for Foothills Church as their web developer and I freelance on the side. I have around 4 years of experience in this field and love what I do.

Creative people tend to be night owls, and I am no exception to that rule. 145 Design was started because the wee hours of the morning are not only when I make websites, but also my preferred time to be awake.

In my free time you can find me playing computer games, board games or prepping for our next session of D&D. I also enjoy cheering on my favorite eSports team (cloud9), and listening to pop punk music because “the phase” never ended for me.

I have been married to my sweet wife Katie for 6 years now, and we currently live just outside of Knoxville, TN with our daughter and three pets, Ahri, Xayah and Lux.

Projects

Site: Big Day Design

URL: https://bigdaydesign.co/

Currently Active: Yes

Role: Designer, Developer

Details: Big Day Design is my latest project, with the aim of helping future brides and grooms easily get an incredible wedding website, all while doing none of the work themselves. This site is the "storefront" of sorts where potential clients can get more information about the product.

Stack: Wordpress, TailwindCSS

Site: Alushor - A Big Day Design Template

URL: https://foreverafairbank.com/

Currently Active: Yes

Role: Designer, Developer

Details: This is one of three templates I made that Big Day Design clients can choose from. It features multiple pages potential clients could want to use, and all of the site data pulls from one json file for ease of deploy.

Stack: Vue, Nuxt, TailwindCSS

Site: The Vision Offering

URL: https://thevisionoffering.com/

Currently Active: Yes

Role: Designer, 1 of 2 developers

Details: The Vision Offering is a kickstarter style website that tracks how much money has been given to a specific fund in Planning Center. Unfortunately their API was less than cooperative, so we had to come up with a workaround via Stripe to track it there. I was responsible for the entire front end of the site, the only part I didn't create was the data handling.

Stack: Vue, TailwindCSS

Site: Gibson Leadership

URL: https://gibsonleadership.com/

Currently Active: Yes

Role: Designer, Developer

Details: Client has made lots of design edits since the original file. Gibson Leadership is designed to be hub for all of Gibson Leadership's needs, links to resources, newsletter sign ups, lead capture, contact, etc.

Stack: Wordpress, TailwindCSS

Site: The Busy Pastor

URL: https://busypastor.org/

Currently Active: Yes

Role: Designer, Developer

Details: Site is still active, but no longer updated. The BPP Website was designed to be a hub for not only videos of new episodes, but also as a place to store show notes, sign up for the newsletter, trainings, etc. This site features an atypical slanted section design as well as an "app style" navigation between the 3 pages.

Stack: Wordpress, Foundation

Site: Foothills Collective

URL: https://foothillscollective.com/

Currently Active: Yes

Role: Designer, Developer

Details: Foothills Collective is the band of Foothills Church. This website was designed to act as a hub for all of their resources. This means that pages are created for each song and album to allow users to find information including lyrics, charts, multitracks and videos.

Stack: Wordpress, TailwindCSS

Site: Trent Stewart Leadership

URL: https://trentstewart.org/

Currently Active: Yes

Role: Designer, Developer

Details: Pastor Trent Coaching was built for Foothills Church's lead pastor as a hub to host sermons, podcasts and to act as a launchpad for his coaching. It features a blog style array of sermons as well as a few forms for contact purposes.

Stack: Wordpress, Foundation

Site: Let's Go

Currently Active: No

Role: Designer, Developer

Details: Let's Go was an event put on by Foothills Church. The site needed to function as a hub to not only display serving opportunities in the community, but also allow users to sign up for these serve opportunities. I made use of the Event Espresso plugin to handle scheduling, ticketing, and emailing reminders. Since this is for a seasonal event, this site isn't active at the moment.

Stack: Wordpress, Foundation

Site: Pre-Launch Wordpress

Currently Active: No

Role: Developer, Designer (kinda)

Details: This is my pet project that I've been working on for the last year. It was never a live site nor was it designed to be. Pre-Launch is a completely custom template designed for new devs to be able to hop into wordpress with all the goodies while explaining everything as best as I can in the docs. It is a work in Progress, but every site I develop moving forward uses this as a launching point.

Stack: Wordpress, TailwindCSS, Babel - Webpack 5, Prettier, Browsersync, PostCSS, Autoprefixer, Sass
